2009 League Update

And the winner is...

Lawrence Roots.
Lawrence finishes very strongly to finish with a 234 point cushion to 2nd place Matt. Half centuries from 2nd team batsmen, Tim Knight and Kris Boulton as well as first teamer Tom Mitchell and 5 wickets from Phil Knight helped Lawrence to a very impressive 797 point week, his best of the season! Matt could only manage 578 in reply but has had an impressive season without making a single transfer until the final week. Elsewhere, Andrew Lawton has managed to move back into 3rd place, ahead of Jamie Mitchell in 4th as Nick Hudson has an awful final week of just 278 points to slip back to 5th. At the other end of the table, Alex Horn's 565 point final week enables him to beat Josh "bottom of the league again" Boulton by 30 points.

In the first Fantasy Cricket KO Cup competition the final was contested between Kevin Mitchell and Jamie Mitchell.

Kevin Mitchell 366 lost to 556 Jamie Mitchell.

Congratulations to Jamie "Northern" Mitchell.
In a rather one sided cup final, there was only really going to be one winner, Tom Mitchell was the major factor in deciding which way this final went. Jamie Mitchell's XI beating Champions (Again?) (or not) by 556 to 366. Coincidently, Brian Boulton would have won the 3rd place play off against Andrew Lawton 608 to 571. I have quite enjoyed the cup format and believe it adds a bit of interest to the mid/late season which can otherwise be rather dull for those not in title contention. Thoughts and comments always welcome.

Player List 2009 - NEW

Congratulations to Dwaine Perry who had "statistically" the best season this year scoring 1555 points in the 15 games he played, thats an average of over 100 points a game. In 2nd place was fellow first teamer Naeem Khan with 1388 points. Well done to Jamie Mitchell, Paul Walden and Kris Boulton who also managed to score over 1000 points in the season. Ignoring Dwaine (who was injured for parts of last year), "statistically" the 2 most improved players this year (increase in points compared to 2008) were Jamie Mitchell and Martin Sawyer. I won't mention who went the other way - although they do say form is temporary. Thank you to all 65 players who participated in Saturday fixtures this year, I hope you enjoyed it.

The Rules 2009

Below is a brief outline of the rules as they stand :

Only completed competitive Saturday fixtures will count for points.
A team must contain 4 batsmen, 2 all-rounders, 1 wicket keeper and 4 bowlers.
You team may NOT exceed a value of 150.
There is a maximum of 10 transfers throughout the season.
Pre season transfers are free and do not count towards your 10 for the season
You can only have 1 overseas player in your team (signified with an O after their name).
