Under 13 team news in 2005

Despite good numbers, the under 13's lacked the strength of previous seasons. They finished mid-table in the Bath Youth League, beating the four teams below them and losing to the four teams above them and similarly finished mid-table in the Wiltshire Youth League.

There were many good performances with Jamie Penton being joined by James Howells to form a formidable opening attack and Liam Boulton and Michael Flynn held the batting honours. Ben Copeland produced fine performances and continued his Mr Motivator role.

Sunday 1st May Swindon The Under 13's began their season against Swindon on the all weather pitch following a late change of venue.
Batting first, Swindon made 152 for 3 wickets. Jamie Penton was the pick of the bowlers with 1 for 13 from 7 overs but new arrival James Howells made a promising debut with 1 for 22.
In reply Biddestone could never quite keep up with the rate and needed a middle order recovery from Liam Boulton (24) and Jamie Penton (13). Frankie Foston survived an exciting last over to leave the home side on 106 for 8. Winning draw and 6 points.
Tuesday 3rd May Bradford Abandoned - Waterlogged pitch
Tuesday 10th May Bathford A good win thanks to 46 from Michael Flynn.
Sunday 15th May Wootton Bassett Unfortunately, the Under 13's were soundly beaten by a strong Wootton Bassett side. Batting first Biddestone were 1 for 3 and were indebted to in-form Michael Flynn (14), Jamie Howells (10 not out) and 25 extras, However 55 was never going to be enought despite good opening bowling from Jamie Penton (1 for 14) and Jamie Howells (12 for 7). The visitors reached their total in only 11 overs.
