Under 12 youth team - 2002 season summary |
The Under 12's were almost certainly the team that suffered most as a result of the weather this season. They lost their first four games to the rain and didn't turn out until the penultimate day of May. They then lost a cup game that they had 'in the bag' and then faced the two strongest sides in the league in Lansdown and Hinton Charterhouse. So it wasn't until 25th June that they found their first win against Frome. It was always going to be difficult for the Under 12's in the Under 13 league and maybe, in hindsight, it was an experiment that didn't work. However the team will be together for it's third year next season and have hopefully learnt a lot from playing the bigger and better teams this season. Tom Needham played for the full county side this season. Many congratulations Tom!
